Step-by-Step Process: Deletion of Account and Withdrawal of Program Consent

This document provides implementation details for the account deletion and consent management procedures outlined in our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy of the Blue Pencil Strategies Private Limited (“Company”). All actions taken under these procedures are governed by the comprehensive legal framework established in those documents. In case of any inconsistency, the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy shall prevail. STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS

1.      Deletion of Account through Mobile Application

You can delete your account directly from our Mobile applications (Lekha and Vayam) by following 3 simple steps:

Step 1. Log in

Step 2. Go to Profile

Step 3. Scroll down and select Delete Account

Step 4. Provide Reason for Deletion and enter the OTP sent to the registered phone number

 

Alternatively, you may also delete your Account through Tashi.in

Delete my Account

Your accounts for Vayam or Lekha will be deleted once your request is complete.

If you have forgotten the Login credentials to your account (username and/or password), you will have to reset your password.

As part of this process, Tashi will ask you to verify your identity using a temporary verification code. This may require you to have a phone number and/or email ID attached to your account. Reach out to us at support@tashi.in or +91-9076247000 in case you face any issues.

1.1   To protect your privacy and rights under applicable data protection laws in India, you will be asked to verify your identity through a code sent to your registered mobile number or email.

 

1.2   Deletion of Account request from platform will also be treated as an exercise of your right to withdrawal of consent from platform under applicable data protection laws.)

After initiating a deletion request:

1.3   You will have 7 calendar days to change your mind. If you log in again or notify us during this period that you no longer wish to delete your account, your deletion request will be treated as revoked and your account will remain active.

 

1.4   After 7 calendar days, your account will be initiated for deactivation and deletion will proceed as follows:

 

1.4.1          If you are part of an active program, your deletion request will be reviewed by the Implementation Organisation(s) (IO/IOs). You will be notified of the outcome. The Company will not process your data for any new purposes while the request is under review.

 

1.4.2          If you are not in an active program, your account will be deactivated and flagged for deletion. Unless instructed otherwise by the relevant IO/IOs, your data will be retained only for a period as defined in the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy of the Company, to allow for contractual, audit or legal compliance, as permitted under applicable laws. After this, the account may be permanently deleted.

 

1.4.3          If your request is approved by the IO/IOs, your account will be permanently deleted within 30 calendar days.

 

1.4.4          If your request to delete your account is declined by the relevant IO/IOs and you believe the decision was incorrect or unfair, you will be notified to reach out to your dedicated Volunteer and submit a formal grievance to the IO/IOs. The Company acts on behalf of the IO/IOs in fulfilling rights of Data Principals and executes only formally issued instructions received from them under applicable data protection laws.

 

1.4.5          In rare cases where the IO/IOs fail to respond despite formal reminders, the Company may escalate the issue internally and take appropriate action after 30 calendar days, to uphold your data rights, in line with applicable data protection laws.

 

1.4.6          You will receive a confirmation once your deletion request has been processed, subject to audit, legal and contractual exceptions.

 

1.4.7          The Company will ensure that all data processors under its control, cease processing, where applicable, as required by applicable laws. Your request and our response will be logged securely for compliance and audit under applicable data protection laws.

 

1.5   The Company may retain certain personal data for a period of 3 years to comply with audit, legal or contractual obligations, as permitted under applicable laws.

 

2.      Withdrawal of Consent from a Program.

 

2.1   Withdrawing consent from a Program will also be treated as withdrawing from the said program. You can withdraw your consent for specific program directly from our Mobile applications (Lekha and Vayam) by following 4 simple steps:

Step 1: Log in

Step 2: Select the Program that you wish to withdraw consent from

Step 3: Go to Program Menu, Select ‘Withdraw from Program’

Step 4. Provide ‘Reason for Withdrawal’ and confirm withdrawal from the program.

2.2   To protect your privacy and rights under applicable data protection laws in India, you will be asked to verify your identity through a code sent to your registered mobile number or email.

 

2.3   This request will be treated as an exercise of your right to withdraw consent under applicable laws. The Company will act in accordance with applicable laws, ensuring that all relevant data processing ceases unless retention is required under applicable law or valid program contract.

 

2.4   You may withdraw your consent at any time. However, doing so may affect your continued participation in the program or access to services or benefits that depend on the data for which consent was previously given.

 

2.5   Data already processed before withdrawal will not be reused for any new purposes and will be retained only as necessary for legal, audit, contractual or programmatic obligations as per applicable laws.

After initiating a consent withdrawal request:

2.6   You will have 7 calendar days to change your mind. If you log in again or notify us during this period that you no longer wish to withdraw consent, your request will be considered revoked, and the previously granted consent will remain active.

 

2.7   Once this period ends, your request will be processed as follows:

 

2.7.1     If you are part of an active program, your withdrawal request will be sent to the respective Implementation Organisation(s) (IO/IOs). You will be notified of the outcome. The Company will not process your data for any new purposes while the request is under review.

 

2.7.2     If you are not in an active program, your withdrawal request will be recorded and forwarded to the relevant IO/IOs. The Company will pause any further processing of data, unless instructed otherwise by the IO/IOs or where retention is required by applicable laws.

 

2.7.3     If your request is approved, data processing for the specified purpose will be permanently halted.

 

2.7.4     If your request to withdraw your consent is declined by the IO/IOs and you believe the decision was incorrect or unfair, you will be notified to reach out to your dedicated Volunteer and submit a formal grievance to the IO/IOs. The Company acts on behalf of the IO/IOs in fulfilling rights of Data Principals and executes only formally issued instructions received from them under applicable data protection laws.
